Dhaka, Feb. 9 -- A pickup van driver and his assistant have died after another vehicle crashed into it in Munshiganj's Sreenagar Upazila.

The accident occurred around 2am on Monday on the Nimtala Underpass, said Sreenagar Fire Station Officer Dewan Azad Hossain.

The dead were identified as pickup van driver Sujan, 37, who hailed from Jashore's Rajarhat Upazila, and his assistant Isarul, who hailed from Khulna's Dumuria Upazila. Isarul had been living in Jashore.

Witnesses said the pickup van was heading to Dhaka from Jashore carrying raw materials when another vehicle rammed it from behind and fled the scene.
