Dhaka, March 15 -- The 13th parliament has sat for the second day of its first session in what is set to be its last sitting before the Eid recess.

The House convened at 11am on Sunday under Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, with Leader of the House Tarique Rahman and ruling party MPs in attendance.

Lawmakers from the Jamaat-led opposition bloc, including Opposition Leader Shafiqur Rahman, were also present. They had walked out during President Md Shahabuddin's opening address on Thursday, calling him an "ally of fascists".

At Sunday's sitting, Cox's Bazar MP Almgir Muhammad Mahmudullah Farid raised the first question on behalf of BNP lawmaker Sultan Mahmud Babu of Jamalpur.
