Dhaka, Oct. 23 -- Bangladesh has recorded 803 new dengue hospital admissions in the past 24 hours, pushing the total for this year to 63,170 patients.
This year's hospitalisations rank as the fourth-highest on record, according to health directorate count.
The highest was in 2023, when 321,179 patients were admitted. Previous major outbreaks include 2024 with 101,214 admissions, 2022 with 62,382, and 2019 with 101,354.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin on Thursday reported four deaths from dengue in the last 24 hours, bringing this year's toll to 259.
Among them, two were men and two women, aged 60, 64, 64, and 72.
