Dhaka, Feb. 7 -- Masuma Hadi has pledged to continue protests until justice is delivered for her brother, Sharif Osman Hadi, whose murder remains unresolved.

Speaking on Saturday in Jhalakathi's Nalchity -- the birthplace of the slain Inqilab Moncho leader, she demanded a swift trial for his killing and vowed that protesters would not return to their homes until justice is served.

Masuma said the platform leaders had repeatedly tried, without success, to meet the interim government to press their demand for justice.

Left with no option, the activists attempted a "peaceful" sit-in outside the State Guest House Jamuna, the chief advisor's residence, where police carried out what she described as an "unacceptable assault".
