Dhaka, April 14 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has issued a stern warning against those opposing the government's public-interest initiatives, claiming the "ghost of autocracy" is gradually possessing the opposition.

Addressing a rally at the Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University campus in Tangail's Santosh, the premier urged the nation to remain vigilant against attempts to create anarchy.

The prime minister took a swipe at the Opposition's conduct in parliament, questioning the demands of those who commanded significantly less public support at the poll.
