Dhaka, April 10 -- The Opposition in parliament has staged a walkout, accusing the government of breaching a prior agreement reached by a special committee and questioning the neutrality of the speaker during proceedings.
Members of the Jamaat-e-Islami-led alliance, headed by Leader of the Opposition Shafiqur Rahman, left the chamber at around 7:37pm.
The Opposition alleged that a consensus reached by a parliamentary special committee on ordinances issued during the interim government period had not been honoured.
They specifically pointed to the July Uprising Memorial Museum Bill, 2026, saying that despite a recommendation for its passage without changes, three amendments were introduced to Section 8 before it was passed.
