Bangladesh, July 19 -- One of the suspects in the case over the bludgeoning death of scrap metal and used wire trader Sohag, alias Lal Chand, in front of Mitford Hospital about a year ago has expressed a lack of confidence in the trial court.

On Sunday, suspect Mahmud Hasan Mohin formally moved a no-confidence plea against the court of First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Alamgir in Dhaka.

His lawyer Mashrur Hossain sought a postponement of the day's scheduled witness testimony.

The court granted the request, fixing Jul 27 for recording testimony, plaintiff's lawyer Ziaul Haque said.

Mashrur said heavy rain had kept him from attending the Jul 12 hearing on framing charges, but the court proceeded anyway.
