Dhaka, Feb. 5 -- All government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices will operate from 9am to 3:30pm during the holy month of Ramadan.

On Thursday, the Advisory Council approved the office schedule for Ramadan at a meeting chaired by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus at his office in Dhaka's Tejgaon.

Later in the afternoon, Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam announced the office hours at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy.

A 15-minute break will be observed for Zuhr prayer from 1:15pm to 1:30pm, Shafiqul said.

The arrangement follows the traditional practice of adjusting work hours to accommodate the religious observances of the fasting month.
