Dhaka, March 18 -- Police Headquarters has dismissed reports of a theft at the Bagerhat home of IGP Ali Hossain Fakir as false.
In a statement on Wednesday, the authorities said that there was no theft at the IGP's residence. However, some media outlets have published reports of such an incident without proper verification, leading to public confusion, police said.
The statement said, "On the 16th of March, around 11pm, there was a power outage due to a thunderstorm and some wires of the service line outside the boundary wall of the house were torn down and fell on the ground. Later, some unidentified people took away the wires."
