Dhaka, March 4 -- The government has overhauled the police administration in six districts, including Bogura and Sylhet, as part of a wider reassignment of 10 officers holding the rank of superintendent of police (SP).

Among those moved, four serving SPs have been withdrawn from their district postings and reassigned to different units within police.

Moreover, three deputy commissioners of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have been appointed as SPs in three districts.

This marks the largest single-day reshuffle within the police force under the new Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) government, led by Tarique Rahman, following the recent appointments of a new inspector general of police (IGP) and a new DMP chief.
