Bangladesh, July 24 -- Technicians have installed a new government telephone line at former president Mohammed Shahabuddin's Gulshan residence, where activity remained minimal after his resignation.

A visit to the Road 123 residence "Green Villa" found a quiet scene, with security personnel inside the compound but no crowds or unusual activity on Friday.

Security guard Mohammad Masum said the president will move into the fifth floor of the building if he resigns.

"The president visited the house three or four days ago. More than a hundred people, including members of the security forces, accompanied him.
