Dhaka, Oct. 5 -- A Dhaka court has granted bail to retired major general Golam Mohiuddin Chowdhury in a case over the attack, vandalism and looting at New Gini Properties in the capital's ECB Chattar.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates' Court granted bail on Monday, when he was produced after a three-day remand, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Tarequr Rahman of the prosecution department.

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Mohiuddin from a house in Segunbagicha on Sept 30. The next day, the court allowed police to question him in custody for three days.

Investigating officer Jehad Hossain, a DB inspector, asked the court to keep him in jail after the questioning period.
