Dhaka, Feb. 25 -- Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said the decision to replace the Bangladesh Bank governor was part of a broader effort to bring key institutions in line with the new government's priorities and policy agenda.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Wednesday, he said changes were natural after a new government took office and indicated that further reshuffles could follow.

"A new government has its own priorities. Changes have taken place not only at Bangladesh Bank but in many places, and more will happen where necessary," he said.
