Dhaka, Aug. 16 -- The National Citizen Party (NCP) has withdrawn the show-cause notices issued to five of its leaders over an unauthorised trip to Cox's Bazar, effectively bringing the matter to a close.

The decision was announced in a media statement signed by Joint Member Secretary (Office) Saleh Uddin Sifat on Saturday.

The five leaders are: Sarjis Alam, chief organiser for the northern region; Hasnat Abdullah, chief organiser for the southern region; Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary; Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Jara; and Joint Convenor Khaled Saifullah.

The group had left Dhaka for Cox's Bazar in a state of discontent, reportedly displeased with the "July Proclamation" announced by the interim government.
