Dhaka, March 8 -- A Dhaka court has summoned National Citizens Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary for defamation, criminal intimidation, and insulting Mirza Abbas, the prime minister's political advisor and member of the BNP National Standing Committee.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Hasan Shahadat issued the order on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Ramna Thana BNP President Ashraful Islam had filed a case petition against Patwary.

The plaintiff's legal counsellor Amirul Islam (Amir) said the court has recorded the statement of the plaintiff and summoned the defendant.
