Bangladesh, Aug. 5 -- Eggs have been hurled at NCP leader Gazi Salahuddin Tanvir after he was brought to a Bogura court following his arrest.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, witnesses said.

Tanvir, who was relieved of his position as NCP joint member secretary was arrested early on Wednesday in a residential building at Dhaka's Manipuripara over allegations that he made offensive remarks about Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in a Facebook post.

In a post on Aug 1, 2026, Tanvir allegedly blamed Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal for obstructing and attacking NCP events in different parts of Sylhet, while making offensive comments about the premier.
