Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- National Citizen Party (NCP) Convenor Nahid Islam has called into question the appointment of Khalilur Rahman in the BNP-led cabinet.
Khalilur previously served as the national security advisor to former chief advisor Muhammad Yunus.
Nahid said Khalilur's appointment raises concerns as to whether he had been serving the BNP's interest while in the interim administration.
"We witnessed 'result manipulation' where many of our seats were snatched away. The ruling party strategically took a two-thirds majority to block constitutional reforms," he said.
"This entire complexity we see today is clearly engineered-and that is being exposed to the nation through Khalilur Rahman joining this cabinet."
