Dhaka, May 4 -- Three women and a teenage passenger have been killed when a truck slammed into an auto-rickshaw on the Mymensingh-Tangail Highway.

The accident took place at around 12:15pm on Monday at Kumargata in Mymensingh's Muktagachha Upazila, said Muktagachha Police chief Kamrul Hasan.

An 18-year-old Tushar Chandra Das of Mymensingh Sadar Upazila was the last to be confirmed dead after being rush to a local hospital, while two more people were injured in the crash.

Jamalpur residents Farzana Akhter Shiuli, 38, and her daughter Khusnur Jannat Rinti, 11, along with Chowdhury Hosne Ara Begum, a 54-year-old lawyer practising in Mymensingh, died on the spot, said the police officer.
