Dhaka, March 18 -- At least 66 passengers have been injured when nine coaches of the Nilsagar Express derailed in Bogura, with many sustaining injuries after jumping from the overcrowded train roof in panic, railway authorities said.
A railways ministry statement on Wednesday night said 20 of the injured were admitted to Naogaon Sadar Hospital, while 40 were released after primary treatment.
It added that six others were treated and discharged from Adamdighi Upazila Health Complex.
Santahar Station Master Khadija Khanam said: "The accident occurred about 1.5 kilometres from the station. The train had 13 coaches, nine of which derailed.
