Dhaka, Sept. 30 -- A clash has broken out between hawkers, police and city corporation workers over the footpath evictions in Dhaka's Mirpur 10.

Three city corporation vehicles were set on fire during the incident.

Witnesses said the incident took place around 10:30am on Wednesday.

They said an electric wire was torn while the footpath was being cleared. This led to a fire that spread to an electric transformer nearby. The transformer exploded, spreading the fire further.

When the fire started, it sparked a clash between enraged hawkers and city corporation workers. When police went to the scene, the hawkers also clashed with the law enforcers. Three city corporation vehicles were set on fire amid the violence.
