Dhaka, March 17 -- The Dhaka Metro Rail will continue regular service for most of the seven-day Eid-ul-Fitr break, but will not be running on Eid Day.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), which operates the metro rail, announced the decision in a statement on Monday.

The statement said that the service will only be closed on Eid Day. However, regular operations will resume from the following day.

The seven-day official holiday for Eid began on Tuesday. Eid-ul-Fitr will likely fall on Mar 20 or Mar 21, subject to the sighting of the moon.
