Dhaka, Oct. 26 -- Metro rail operations have resumed from Motijheel to Shahbagh nearly seven hours after a fatal accident involving a fallen bearing pad.
Train services on MRT Line-6 between Agargaon and Uttara had already reopened in the afternoon. However, services between Shahbagh and Agargaon remain suspended.
A message posted on the Facebook page of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) on Sunday evening said: "For the information of passengers, metro rail services have been resumed from 3pm between Uttara North and Agargaon. Services from Motijheel to Shahbagh resumed at 7:15pm."
A bearing pad from the metro rail line fell at Dhaka's Farmgate around 12:15pm on Sunday, instantly killing a pedestrian.
