Dhaka, April 21 -- Three people have died of measles and measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the recent fatalities, one was a confirmed case of measles, while two others died exhibiting symptoms of the disease.
According to official data, the total death toll since the current outbreak began on Mar 15 has reached 223.
The DGHS bulletin revealed that of the total deaths, 38 have been laboratory-confirmed as measles, while 185 individuals died with suspected symptoms.
Dhaka remains the worst-affected region, recording the highest number of symptomatic deaths at 84.
The Rajshahi Division follows with 66 reported fatalities.
