Bangladesh, Sept. 6 -- A man has been killed and two others were injured after being attacked with sharp weapons while visiting a female acquaintance in Dhaka's Sabujbagh.

The deceased was identified as Sifat Ullah, 27. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Adarshapara neighbourhood of Sabujbagh.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries later that evening.

Assistant Commissioner Imranul Islam of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Sabujbagh Zone said the murder occurred near a residence in the area.

"Initial investigations suggest the incident stems from a dispute over a romantic relationship," he said.
