Dhaka, May 4 -- A bus worker has died after a passenger bus plunged into a ditch in Bauphal Upazila of Patuakhali.

At least 10 others were injured in the accident.

The accident occurred around 12:30am on Monday in the Afsar Garage area of the Bauphal-Lebukhali-Barishal-Dhaka highway, said Bauphal Police Station chief Md Sirajul Islam.

The deceased, 20-year-old Babu was a native of Bauphal's Boga. His body has been recovered and sent to the Bauphal Upazila Health Complex.

Citing locals, police officer Sirajul said: "The bus named 'Bauphal Travels', which was heading to Dhaka from Dashmina Upazila, veered out of control and fell into a ditch.
