Bangladesh, Sept. 14 -- A man has been killed after allegedly being struck with a sharp sickle by his elder brother following an altercation over land boundaries in Kushtia's Daulatpur Upazila.

The incident took place around 7:30pm on Sunday in Shehala Badaltala village of Boalia Union, near the Indian border, said Daulatpur Police chief Khaledur Rahman.

The dead has been identified as Imdadul Haque Badal, 52, a local farmer of the village.

According to witnesses, the two brothers had been involved in a longstanding dispute over the demarcation of a road passing through their ancestral land.
