Dhaka, April 19 -- The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has again increased the prices of private Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and autogas in April, citing the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Strait of Hormuz crisis, the disruption of shipping, and increased import costs.
The price of the most commonly purchased amount - the 12kg cylinder - has been fixed at Tk 1,940. The adjusted rates will take effect at 6pm on Sunday.
BERC said in a notification that the new consumer price of private LPG has been fixed at Tk 161.66 per kg. At the same time, the price of autogas has been raised to Tk 89.50 per litre.
