Dhaka, May 9 -- A 28-year-old man from Karimgonj Upazila of Kishoreganj who was participating in the Ukraine war for the Russian army has been killed in a drone attack, a friend has informed his relatives.

One of his friends confirmed the death by a "Ukrainian drone attack" from a Russian army camp on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, local police visited the house of the dead in Majhirkona village of Zafrabad Union on Saturday and identified him as Md Riyad Rashid.

He was the son of Abdur Rashid, a former schoolteacher, said Karimganj Police chief Md Emranul Kabir.

According to the family, Riyad went to Russia for work in October 2025. Later, he joined the Russian army on Apr 7.
