Dhaka, Dec. 18 -- BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's personal physician AZM Zahid Hossain has said the former prime minister's physical condition remains stable.

Speaking in front of Evercare Hospital on Thursday afternoon, Zahid said Khaleda was responding to treatment as advised by doctors.

"Her condition is stable. She is receiving the treatment being administered according to the advice of doctors," he said.

He added that her physical condition had not changed in recent days.

"She has been able to maintain the same condition as before."

Khaleda was admitted to Evercare Hospital on Nov 23.

Three days later, after developing a lung infection, she was shifted to the hospital's critical care unit.
