Dhaka, April 14 -- A Dhaka court has granted police three days to interrogate three men, including key suspect Moin Uddin, in an extortion case over an incident at the Centre for Kidney Diseases and Urology Hospital in Dhaka's Shyamoli.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jamshed Alam passed the order on Tuesday after a hearing on a remand plea filed by the case's investigating officer.

The two others sent on remand are MB Swapan Kazi and Md Shawon Hossain.

State lawyer Muhammad Shamsuddoha Sumon said police had sought seven days' remand for the three suspects.

Additional Public Prosecutor Azizul Haque Didar said the prosecution had sought approval of the remand plea, while defence lawyers applied for bail.
