Dhaka, June 23 -- Jamaat-e-Islami has decided to review the incident involving the assault on journalists performing their professional duties in Dhaka's Dhanmondi.

The party says organisational action will be taken against any of its activists if their involvement in the violence is proven.

The party's Central Publicity and Media Secretary Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon that Jamaat would conduct an internal review to find out who was behind the incident and how it had unfolded.

Journalists were allegedly assaulted in Dhanmondi Road 32 around 8:45am, following a protest programme by Jamaat activists.
