Dhaka, June 15 -- Jamaat-e-Islami MP Saiful Alam Khan Milon has called for a government statement in parliament over the alleged "detention" of Prime Minister's Information Advisor Zahedur Rahman at immigration in New Delhi airport.

Raising a point of order in parliament on Monday, he said Zahedur was "made to wait for two hours" at Indira Gandhi International Airport despite proper diplomatic communication.

"He was later allowed entry, but Zahedur ultimately returned to Bangladesh."

The MP said, "I demand a statement from the minister under rule 300 on what our diplomatic failure was in this matter and what steps have been taken."
