Dhaka, March 27 -- MP Saiful Alam Khan Milon, a member of the Central Executive Council of Jamaat-e-Islami, has accused the government of making an effort to repeal the ordinance related to the national referendum held alongside the general election on Feb 12.
The senior leader made the remarks at a press briefing on Friday following a meeting with a delegation from the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) at the party's central office.
"The government is moving to cancel the referendum ordinance instead of taking the expected steps to implement the 'July Charter'," Milon said.
He described the failure to execute the charter as the most significant challenge facing the current parliament.
