Bangladesh, Sept. 16 -- The hanging body of a Jagannath University student has been recovered by his classmates from a student residence in Dhaka's Chankhanpul.

The young man, named Anik Chandra Pal, was a student in the 2024-25 academic year at the Department of Drawing and Painting. His hailed from Tahirpur in Sunamganj district and his family lives in a rented residence near Shibganj of Sylhet.

Subash Pal, assistant professor and assistant proctor of the Department of 3D Art and Design, said that Anik's body was recovered from the fourth floor of a building in PK Ganguly Lane in the Chankhanpul area around 10:30pm on Tuesday.

He told bdnews24.com that the body was found hanged by cloth from a rod for a fan in the room.
