Dhaka, Feb. 18 -- Independent University, Bangladesh have emerged champions in the elite men's team category at the Inter-University Table Tennis Fest 2026.

A female student from the university also secured fourth place in the elite women's singles event.

The two-day tournament, organised by the Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation, was held on Feb 16-17 at the Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Dhaka.

A total of 174 male and 36 female players from 36 universities across the country, including nationally ranked players, took part in the competition.

IUB clinched the men's team title after defeating Dhaka University in the final.
