Dhaka, March 5 -- The fatal stabbing of an assistant professor in her university office has sent shockwaves across the nation, as her husband filed a case accusing three colleagues and a staff member of involvement in the attack.

Islamic University Police chief Masud Rana said the process of formally accepting the complaint as a case was under way.

The primary suspect in the case is Fazlur Rahman, a university employee who allegedly stabbed the teacher in her office at the university in Kushtia on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, Asma Sadia Runa taught social welfare at the university.

Fazlur tried to take his own life after the alleged attack and is currently undergoing treatment in Kushtia General Hospital.
