Dhaka, April 25 -- Iran's mission to the United Nations has condemned the United States' seizure of an Iranian vessel "carrying dialysis equipment", warning the move has put vulnerable patients at risk, Mehr News Agency reports.

The mission said on Friday that the US had carried out an attack on the commercial vessel Touska in the Sea of Oman on Apr 19 while it was transporting critical medical supplies, as per the Iranian state-run agency.

It described the act as an "illegal seizure" involving coercion and intimidation, adding that it constitutes a "flagrant breach" of international law, including human rights obligations and the right to life.
