Dhaka, Feb. 5 -- Members of the Inqilab Moncho have staged a sit-in outside the chief advisor's official residence, demanding a United Nations-led investigation into the murder of Sharif Osman bin Hadi.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) banned meetings and rallies near the State Guest House Jamuna two days ago.

Undeterred by the prohibition, protesters began gathering at 7pm on Thursday, shouting slogans.

At 8:45pm, Ramna Division DMP Deputy Commissioner Masud Alam said: "We are talking to them."

Earlier, at 4:45pm, the Inqilab Moncho announced via its Facebook page that members, led by Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber, had taken position outside Jamuna.
