Dhaka, Feb. 6 -- Activists of Inqilab Moncho have cleared the Shahbagh intersection blockade, ending the demonstration staged after clashes with police outside the chief advisor's official residence.

The protesters left the road about an hour after Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber made an announcement on Facebook Live around 9pm.

Earlier, from 5:15pm, the group had gathered at Shahbagh as part of their ongoing movement demanding justice for the killing of their leader Sharif Osman bin Hadi.

Their blockade brought vehicular movement in the area to a halt, triggering severe traffic congestion on surrounding roads.
