Dhaka, Dec. 30 -- Foreign dignitaries including Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will fly to Dhaka to attend BNP chief Khaleda Zia's last rites.

On Tuesday, a media statement, confirming Jaishankar's travel to Dhaka on Dec 31, said he will represent the government and people of India at the funeral.

This marks the first ministerial visit from India to Bangladesh since Aug 5, the day when a student-led mass uprising toppled the previous Awami League government.

Fasih Ullah Khan, press counsellor at the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka, confirmed the plans of Ishaq Dar, also the foreign minister of the country, on Tuesday.
