Dhaka, Oct. 1 -- The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has ordered notices to be published in newspapers asking 34 suspects, including former Rajshahi mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, to surrender in a crimes against humanity case over incidents during the July 2024 mass uprising.

The ICT-2 bench, headed by Justice Nozrul Islam Chowdhury, issued the order on Thursday.

The Chief Prosecutor's Office said the tribunal had instructed its registrar's office to publish the notices.

The order came after the tribunal reviewed a report on efforts to execute arrest warrants previously issued against the 34 suspects.

Prosecutor Mohammad Zahirul Amin presented the report to the tribunal.
