Dhaka, May 8 -- A housewife has been killed in Manikchhari Upazila of Khagrachhari. Police have arrested her husband in the incident.

The body of the housewife was recovered from the East Gachchhabil area at 10:30pm on Thursday, said Manikchhari Police chief Masud Parvez.

The victim was identified as Mahinur Akhter, 24, a resident of Godatoli.

Arrestee Abul Kalam is a native of East Gachchhabil.

Police said that Kalam and his wife Mahinur had an argument, verbal altercation and a physical fight in the evening. This may have led to the murder.

Mahinur's father Abu Taher said her mother-in-law Khajida Begum was also involved in the incident.
