Dhaka, Oct. 4 -- Historian Suniti Bhushan Qanungo has died at the age of 91.

He died on Saturday while being taken to a hospital from his residence in Kanungopara, Boalkhali Upazila, Chattogram, according to his family members.

His cousin, Dolon Qanungo, told bdnews24.com that Suniti had been suffering from age-related illnesses for a long time. He fell ill at his home in the afternoon and passed away on the way to a private hospital in Patiya.

Suniti's funeral will take place at 11am on Sunday at his residence.

Born on October 25, 1934, in Kanungopara, Boalkhali, Suniti was the son of Pulinbihari Qanungo and Sucharupbha Qanungo. His uncle, Dr Kalikarjan Qanungo, was a renowned historian in the subcontinent.
