Dhaka, June 3 -- The High Court has granted bail to former Awami League minister Dipu Moni in one of seven cases filed against her at different police stations in Dhaka.

The court also issued a rule asking why she should not be granted bail in the remaining six cases.

The order was passed on Wednesday by the bench of Justice Md Khairul Alam and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher.

Dipu Moni's lawyer Ramzan Ali Sikdar said the High Court heard petitions in seven cases involving her on the day.

Of those, the court granted her bail and issued a rule in a case filed with Mohammadpur Police.

Rulings were issued in the other six cases without granting bail, he said.
