Bangladesh, July 5 -- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in six divisions across the country, including Dhaka, over the next 72 hours due to the influence of a monsoon depression located in the northwest Bay of Bengal.

The forecast covers the 72 hours from 1pm on Sunday, according to a heavy rainfall warning signed by BMD Meteorologist Dr Md Omar Faruq.

The notification said that a monsoon depression is currently located in the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent north Odisha-West Bengal coast.

Due to this, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in some places in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during the period.
