Bangladesh, Aug. 1 -- Several parts of northern and northeastern Bangladesh are expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next two days, as the monsoon system over the region gains renewed strength.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), in a bulletin issued Friday, said the downpours are likely in many areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions between Saturday evening and the following two days.
According to the regular weather update, the monsoon trough extends across Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, northern Bangladesh and into Assam, with another extension reaching the northern Bay of Bengal.
