Dhaka, April 24 -- Barrister Omar Sadat, a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court, has been re-elected as the president of Gulshan Society, a welfare and civic organisation for the residents of Dhaka's Gulshan area, for the next two years while Mujibur Rahman Mridha has been elected its secretary general.

The full panel of the Sadat-led "Bhalobasar Gulshan" has been elected unopposed in the Gulshan Society election held on Tuesday.

Sadat has also been working as an urban rights activist for a long time while Mridha is a renowned businessman by profession, a Gulshan Society press release said on Thursday.
