Dhaka, March 1 -- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has reshuffled the responsibilities of four officers with the rank of deputy commissioner.

Acting DMP Commissioner Md Sarwar issued an order to this effect on Sunday.

This marks the first internal shake-up in the DMP leadership since the newly elected government took office.

The reshuffle follows the recent resignation of former DMP commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali on Feb 25, just a day after the appointment of the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir.

Following Sazzat's voluntary departure, Additional Commissioner Md Sarwar was made the acting police commissioner.
