Bangladesh, Aug. 28 -- The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has ruled out the possibility of Army personnel being deployed for upcoming central student union elections at three universities across the country.
Amid speculation and discussion on the matter, the ISPR said in a press release on Thursday that there is "no scope" for military involvement in any such duty.
University authorities had previously said that the Army would serve as a "strike force" on the day of the Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) elections on Sept 9.
