Dhaka, May 13 -- The government has approved a new initiative titled "Shishu Swarga", or "Paradise for Children", aimed at ensuring healthcare and rehabilitation services for those with special needs.

The decision came at a meeting on the rights, protection and services for persons with disabilities held on Wednesday afternoon at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in the Secretariat.

Details were later confirmed by the PMO's press wing.

Under the initial plan, the project will be launched in 10 Upazilas across 10 districts.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the meeting and instructed relevant ministries to strengthen protection and services for persons with disabilities.
